The beauty of The Sartorialist is that you can travel the world and admire a variety of stylish people without ever having to leave your couch. Far from being just a place of inspiration, the blog allows you to play the casual street observer with a twist. You can appreciate the beauty of the surroundings and the intricate details of an outfit for however long you want. The moment isn't fleeting, and that is the beauty of the captured image.
So to my great enjoyment, The Sartorialist posted a video commenting on his evolution of becoming a photographer and gave us a sneak peek at a day shooting around the city. It's really interesting to note that he began to take photos without real training, and it gives me hope in my adventure into photography. My favorite part of the short video was a moment when he asked to take a photo of a fashionable young lady, and with a slight hint of attitude she asked "what's it for?" A short introduction, and the "Oh" said everything.
Enjoy the video!
