DIY Awesomeness

Found this fantastic DIY "Transparent Clutch" by Erica on Honestlywtf.com. The following are instructions for this DIY:
Photo via Honestlywtf courtesy of Vogue

STEP 1: You’ll need a clear rectangular hinged box from The Container Store, a pretty knob from Anthropologie, a pair of pliers or a wrench, a heavy duty wire cutter, a drill and a pointed drill bit. (Instructions courtesy of Honestlywtf)

STEP 2: You’ll start by drilling a hole at the top of the plastic box. Use a drill bit that is one size larger than the diameter of the bolt on the knob, otherwise the plastic might crack. Open the lid and slowly drill a hole in the center of the box with very light pressure. Please wear protective eyewear and use caution! You can practice by drilling a few holes into the cover of a plastic CD case. Once the hole is drilled, use wire cutters to trim about an inch off the bolt. You’ll notice that your knob comes with two sets of nuts and washers. Remove one set with your wrench or pliers.

STEP 3: Push the knob through the hole of the box and replace the washer and nut. Tighten.

STEP 4: Voila! You’ve just made a glassy, transparent clutch – it was that easy!

Rue Magazine

I came across this great online magazine the other day, and I was really excited to get an email to let me know that Issue 2 was available. It's filled with lots of great photos on design and fashion. What adds that special touch is while viewing the magazine some images allow you to click on them and they send you directly to where you can buy the item. You can find that great white desk in the picture below at West Elm, and so much more. Check out Rue Magazine Issue 2 for more great pictures and articles.

Well my love for Mad Men continues on, and this great pictorial of Kiernan Shipka, aka Sally Draper, in Interview Magazine epitomizes chic, pre-teen style. I think Betty Draper would approve.

I Luv Minnie Mouse

When I woke up this morning and checked my mail, I was excited to see that Forever21 teamed up with Disney and launched a limited edition Minnie Mouse-themed collection. I was ohhing and awwing over all the outfits and stationary. If only this had been available a few weeks ago when I attended the "Food & Wine" festival at Epcot (I would have so rocked the shirt with Minnie wearing a trench just like I did that day).

Around the Web

After watching a somewhat annoying season of the "Rachel Zoe Project" because Roger incessantly wanted a baby, I am glad to finally hear that Rachel Zoe officially confirmed that she is preggers via her Twitter page.
